ROUND JERSEY

Take on one of the world’s most unique endurance swims: 36 miles around the entire Island of Jersey, powered by strong tidal assistance that can push swimmers to speeds of up to 6 knots. Most complete this extraordinary challenge in 10–12 hours, making it a rare blend of distance, speed, and natural momentum.
The Round Jersey Swim traditionally begins at the Elizabeth Castle breakwater, sweeping anti‑clockwise around the Island. Along the way you’ll experience everything Jersey’s coastline has to offer — golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, open ocean stretches, and fast‑moving tidal flows that make this swim unlike anywhere else in the world.
Safety is central to every JLDSC swim. Our experienced club boat escorts you for the majority of the route, and at key points — including the rocky south‑coast gutters — your pilot may arrange a kayak escort to guide you smoothly through the terrain.
This is a swim your supporters can enjoy too. With countless vantage points around the Island, family and friends can follow your progress from land, and our club members are always happy to point out the best viewing spots.
The Round Jersey Swim can also be completed as a relay, with teams rotating every hour — perfect for groups seeking a shared adventure.
If you’re ready for a challenge that combines endurance, speed, scenery, and the unbeatable support of a passionate sea‑swimming community, the Round Jersey Swim is waiting for you. Your next big adventure starts here!

JERSEY TO FRANCE

Take on a stunning cross‑Channel challenge: 14 miles from Jersey to the coast of Normandy, with tidal movement extending the total swim distance to 15–18 miles. Most swimmers complete this iconic route in 7.5–10 hours, making it a powerful endurance swim that blends distance, tide, and open‑water adventure.

The swim begins at La Coupe Point, a small sandy beach tucked behind St Catherine’s Breakwater. From there, swimmers head across open water towards France, usually landing at Saint‑Germain‑sur‑Ay Plage — a beautiful stretch of Normandy coastline that marks the perfect finish to an unforgettable achievement.
Although shorter than the English Channel, the Jersey to France swim offers its own unique challenge: fast‑moving tides, shifting conditions, and the thrill of crossing an international border entirely under your own power. It’s a favourite among long‑distance swimmers looking for a serious test with a spectacular sense of accomplishment.
Safety and support are central to every JLDSC swim. Our experienced pilot and escort boat accompany you throughout the crossing, ensuring you remain on the safest and most efficient line as the tides evolve.

The Jersey to France swim can also be completed as a relay, with swimmers rotating every hour — a fantastic option for teams seeking a shared endurance challenge.

If you’re ready to push your limits, embrace the tides, and experience the thrill of swimming from one country to another, the Jersey to France Swim is waiting for you
