JLDSC Open Championships

The JLDSC Open Championships – 2008
To be held under ASA Laws and JLDSC rules
.

In order to bring open water competition in Jersey more into line with current ASA competition standards the JLDSC have devised a course and distance similar to that being used on the British mainland. Initially the first year of competition will be for members of clubs affiliated to the Jersey Amateur Swimming Association. It is hoped that should the competition prove successful in its initial year that affiliated club members from within the ASA’s sphere of influence will also be invited to compete in following years.
Competition rules along with details of the course can be found within this section of the clubs website. Please refer to the chart to acquaint yourself with the course which will be within the area of St Catherine’s Bay with marker buoys positioned by the use of GPS to ensure correct and certifiable distances.
This year’s event will be held on Sunday 21st September 2008 with a 5km course for seniors, who must be over 16 and a 3km event for those between 12 and 16. Entry forms can be downloaded from this website or obtained from the championship secretary ‘Charlie’ Gravett on 01534-853282 or sinkorswim@jerseymail.co.uk
